SUNRISE Scoping Survey on Safety and Sustainability Trade-offs

Help us better understand and reflect your needs in safety and sustainability of advanced materials.

SUNRISE aims to develop integrated approaches for the impact assessment of safe and sustainable advanced materials. And, a critical part of this work involves understanding the complex decisions and trade-offs stakeholders like you face concerning safety and sustainability.

We have launched a crucial scoping survey and a series of interviews to delve into the factors that influence these potential trade-offs. Your practical experiences and perspectives will help us identify underlying reasons why choices are made – for instance, between products that may be less expensive but potentially damaging, or more profitable alternatives.

Why participate?

  • Direct Impact: Your responses will directly inform the development of our Integrated Impact Assessment Approach (IIAA).

  • Policy Shaping: The insights will be transferred to public authorities to support the implementation of Safe and Sustainable by Design (SSbD) policies for Advanced Materials (AdMa).

  • Confidentiality: All responses will be treated with the utmost confidentiality and used solely for aggregated research purposes.

We also invite interested stakeholders to participate in a 30-minute semi-structured oral interview. These structured dialogues will allow for deeper reflection and systematic collection of diverse perspectives, arguments, and values. If you are interested in an interview, please indicate this at the end of the survey or send an email to Yasemin Ertugrul at y.ertugrul@yordasgroup.com.

Your contribution is critical to ensuring our project's outcomes are robust and truly reflective of stakeholder needs and challenges.

Thank you for your time and valuable input.
